  2. The California interscholastic Federation states that the student-athlete must pass at least four classes at the end of each grading period.

 ATHLETIC CLEARANCE
Student-athletes must complete the following forms prior to tryouts for all sports:

Insurance All students-athletes must show proof of insurance coverage to be eligible to compete.

Physical Examination All students-athletes must show proof of a physical examination to be eligible to compete. You must have a physical for this school year on file to compete this season. Sports Physicals available at walk-in clinics:

Code of Ethics Form: All students-athletes are required to sign a District “Code of Ethics” form for standards of behavior.  Please see Form 3 in item two above.

 PHILOSOPHY

The philosophy of school athletic programs is stated in "State Guidelines for School Athletic Programs," published by the State Department of Education,1978.   It is defined "...as that phase of the school's educational program in which students engage in organized competitive sports."

The purpose of the athletic program is to provide competitive experiences that "...foster the development of mind and body together in an awareness of the importance of both to the development and success of the whole person. Athletic activities stimulate harmony and understanding among people, regardless of sex, race, creed, color, culture, and national origin".

Dana Hills High School believes the athletic program serves an important part of the educational experiences of its students. It is realized that athletics is only one part of the total educational experience offered by the school and, as such, must be kept in balance with the rest of the school program.
