Instrumental Music Student Account Policy

The Policy

Music Boosters Board Apporved: August 30, 2004

The Music Boosters organization establishes a "Student Account" for each student for money earned by the student through fund raising events. A separate general bank account is established for these monies and is maintained by the Booster Treasurer.

The following rules shall apply:

  • Parent/Guardians or students may elect to withdraw from their student acocunt for music-related expenses by submitting a request form.
  • Examples of valid expenses are: program support donations, music lessons, equipment repair, and department-sponsorted trips.
  • For payment other than program suport donations and department sponsorted trips, an official receipt for the product or service shall be submitted with the request form. The parent/guardian's signature and printed name shall appear on the form.
  • The DHHS Music Boosters Board shall have final decision authority on all student account disbursements.
  • Money remaining in a student account at the time the student leaves the music program may be transferred to a sibling within one year. Otherwise, the money shall revert to the Booster General Account.
  • Money remaining in a student account at the time the student leaves the program shall revert to the Booster general account. A 30-day grace period after the student leaves the program shall apply.
  • Un-reimbursed student account money is non-refundable.

How Does Money Get Into My Student Account?

Fundraising... Sell Dolphin Cards. A portion of the money you raise goes into your student account. See poinsettias. Same thing. A portion of the money you bring in goes into your student account. There may be other fundraisers throughout the year... Participate..

How Much Money Is In My Account?

A student or guardian who wants to know their student account balance can contact the Booster Treasurer via e-mail at Shelly Higgins.

How Do I Get My Money Out?

You'll need a receipt for a qualifying expense or a bill for a qualifying expense. And, you'll need to download a Student Account Withdrawal Request Form, fill it out, and sign it. The completed form along with any bills and/or receipts should to be submitted to a board member. The monthly booster meetings are easy times to submit request forms.
