Counselor’s
Corner
As I begin my 9th year at at Dana Hills, I feel
very fortunate to be working with such great staff and always
find it, enlightening, challenging, and inspiring. I am honored
to meet such amazing and unique students and witness their
growth throughout the years. I’m here full-time and available to
support students and parents who may be experiencing academic or
personal challenges. Students are welcome to stop by my office
(816)’ send me a note or e-mail; or schedule an appointment with
me. Please feel free to contact me at 496-6666 ext. 2816 or
e-mail
NTWilburton@capousd.org.
One
of the fun things I offer students is the opportunity to hang
out in my office during lunch on Tuesday Thursday (“Lunch
Bunch”). Students bring their lunch, meet new people, socialize,
play game cube, or just chill. I also coordinate the dolphin
pride award, inspired by Mrs. Williams , which recognizes
students for good grades, attendance, and community service.
I
look forward to an outstanding year of Dana Hills. I encourage
parents to support their child’s academic success by
establishing good study routines and providing the necessary
materials to stay organized. Although this is a time when your
teen desires independence and control, setting a standard for
good study and organizational skills is vital to their academic
success. If your child develops consistent homework and study
skills, they are well on their way to a very successful high
school career. Have a great year and I look forward to meeting
you!
