Important Winter Formal Information

Winter Formal is Saturday night, February 4, at the South Mesa NCO Club, 20285 San Jacinto Rd., on the USMC base, Camp Pendleton. The dance begins at 7:30pm and ends at 11:00pm.Please go over the following information with your child before the dance.

  • We are on a military base. You and your guest must have ID. You must have ID to check into the dance. The military police will search everyone and all vehicles. If you drive, make sure you have your car registration and proof of insurance. Failure to provide ID, vehicle registration and proof of insurance is a $685 fine.
  • DO NOT SPEED. They are very strict and will issue tickets.
  • All school rules apply- AND REMIND YOUR GUESTS!
    • Anyone under the influence or possession of alcohol or any controlled substance may be recommended for expulsion.
    • Dress code- Formal dress- no tight or revealing clothes (low cut, bare midriff, too short skirt). Gentlemen must wear tux or coat and tie (no jeans or cords) and must keep shirts on during the dance. Students who are inappropriately dressed will not be allowed into the dance and parents will be called. Please see the slide show on attire atwww.dhhs.net Students who are deemed inappropriate will not be let into the dance and the parents will be called. Parents may either bring appropriate attire or they may take their child home.
    • Students dancing inappropriately (freaking) will be warned and their ID will be taken and documented. The second incidence will result in removal from the dance. (list is posted outside ASU for 1st offense). Parents will be called and the student may not attend any future dances.
    • DO NOT BRING VALUABLES! Cell phones, wallets, and purses should be checked in or left them in the car/limo. No gum or perfume is allowed inside the venue
  •
  • The dance hours are from 7:30pm until 11:00pm
  • Please let Mr. Nedler know if you will be late (after 8:30pm) or will not be attending the dance. We start calling parents at 9:00 pm if you are not checked in.
  • You may not leave the dance until 10:00 pm.

Our Activities Director, Ken Nedler, is also in need of volunteer parents to help work our coat-check room.If you are driving your child down to the dance and looking for something to do while waiting for the dance to end before taking the kids back home, the coat checkroom is perfect for you. Your child is in a different room during the dance, therefore, they’re not feeling like mom or dad is “looking after them” all the time and you get to hang out with the other parents and snack on chocolate covered strawberries instead of driving back and forth. Mr. Nedler needs about 6 to 8 volunteers. Please give him a call at 496-6666 ext. 2200 to let him know if you plan on helping out.

Get Your Act Together!

Dana Hills Air Guitar 2012 "The Show Must Go On" is just around the corner. The show date is March 9. If you would like to be in the infamous show, pick up a contract outside of the ASU room or online and turn it in to Mr. Nedler by Friday February 10. You will not want to miss out!
